Elect Her—Campus Women Win, a collaboration between AAUW and Running Start, is the only nationwide program that encourages and trains young women to run for student government on their campuses. In a five-hour training on a college campus, Elect Her-Campus Women Win provides students with research and information about women and politics, inspiring local speakers, and interactive campaign exercises.
Students considering running for a SGA position in April 2013 or are exploring an elective office are encouraged to attend.
Kate C. Farrar, Director of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) Leadership Programs, will facilitate this year's Elect Her workshop. Kate manages programs that ensure women and girls assume leadership roles and acquire the skills they need to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
Sue Kristjansson, former Menifee city council member will be the workshop's keynote speaker. Sue is a Customer Communications Manager for Southern California Edison and holds a MBA with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.
The workshop is FREE and includes lunch and refreshments.
